Geometric manicure

I hope all of you guys had an amazing weekend!

Today I’m showing you one of my experiments with the nail art striping tape. It is a little different than the Fishnet Mani I posted earlier.

I had a completely different idea at first planning on actually using the tape. But in the end I liked the result without the tape better.

I used:
- OPI Mermaid's Tears;
- Orly Purple Velvet;
- Priti NYC Horned Poppy.

Orly Purple Velvet

Orly Purple Velvet is one of the first matte polishes on the market. It’ was a part of Matte Collection of 2009.

Purple Velvet is a deep grape purple with velvet finish. The polish when dry also has a slight rubber effect.

I like to use it as a base coat for flakies and other fancy top coats, because the color is opaque, it dries fast and makes the smooth base foundation.

Orly Act Your Shoe Size

Orly Act Your Shoe Size– is a burgundy nail polish with a hint of chocolate brown.
I’m on the fence with this one. On the one hand, I really like the quality of the polish and glossy finish. Overall, I like burgundies.
On the other hand, I see some pink notes and this is a kind of pink I don’t like.

Orly Plum Delicious

Orly Plum Delicious is a lovely light lilac shimmer with a hint of duochrome finish. I only have seen this polish in a mini version of Orly.
The formula is quite thin, but it’s easy to apply and wear. Unlike most of the brushes in mini polishes, the Orly’s brush is a little bigger that makes the application easier.

Models Own Beetlejuice Collection Purple Blue Dupe - Orly Galaxy Girl

Hi Everyone!

Purple Blue is another nail polish that I got from Beetlejuice collection. When I already received it I had the feeling that I saw this color and finish somewhere else. So I searched my stash and…aha….Orly Galaxy Girl from Cosmic FX collection.

Galaxy Girl is the only nail polish I was disappointed in from that collection. I expected it to be a duochrome, but it turned out to be more of a tiny glitter polish. So, today you will see the result of my curiosity to compare these two. Let’s start from the overview;

Purple Blue has a dark purple base with a hint of burgundy with blue, purple and pink shimmer particles. It doesn’t have a flawless pearl finish like other Beetlejuice nail polishes.

In the bottle Galaxy Girl and Puple Blue look strikingly similar. But in reality, Purple Blue is everything I wanted Galaxy Girt to be. It is a duochrome, but not a simple glitter polish. It actually changes color under the certain light, whereas Galaxy Girl remains quite boring.

Following Fall 2011 Nude Trend with Timeless Shades: Orly Blushalicious

Hey Beauties!

I found Orly Blushalicious in my stash lately, and I thought that this nail polish that I bought at least 3 years ago is not only timeless due to the subtle and very preserved shade, but also quite trendy this Fall.

For the fans of nude and beige nail polishes Blushalicious is a definite must-have. For girls like me, who prefers more dark and rich shades, this polish will anyways be a quite nice addition.

Orly Blushalicious is anything but boring nude/beige. From the distance it might seem to be a beige crème, but in a closer look the peach/gold shimmer is apparent. This shimmer makes this polish interesting.

Orly Cosmic FX Collection – Galaxy Girl, Rocket Science and Space Cadet

These are 3 nail polishes I liked the most from the Cosmic FX collection.
 I don’t have many Orly polishes, because most of what I tired lasts less than 1 day on my nails, but I really love some of the colors from Matte Collection.

Polishes from Cosmic Collection are duo chromes - and most of them are very shiny. You have to apply 3 coats, because the opacity is really low, each layer is almost transparent.

I was a little disappointed with Galaxy Girl. Overall, the color of the nail polish is close to burgundy with blue glitter particles included. It is really hard to see sparkles in the day light.

I added one coat of Chanel Azur over Galaxy girl for more blue shimmer:

Space Cadet and Rocket Science are my favorites from this collectionJ
I received a lot of compliments on Space Cadet. It’s really hard to photograph the real beauty and uniqueness of this nail polish – it’s extremely shiny and has a metallic finish.  This polish stole my heartJ

Rocket Science is an amazing green with hint of copper and gold.
