Chanel Fall 2011 Peridote Swatches and Review

In my opinion, Peridote is the most amazing shade from all Fall 2011 collection.
I absolutely love semi-precious stones and I have some jewelry with peridote, so when I ordered this nail polish I expected for something a little different.

Chanel Peridote is a royal version of the stone. It has more gold and yellow undertones than a real stone. But it is definitely a lovely color. Overall, Peridote is a duochrome. I wear it for 4 days already and it didn't chip or faded in color. The dry time is a little long though, but it's true for most of the Chanel nail polishes. And this "precious jem" is definitely worth the wait.

I would recommend to apply top coat, because like with the case of Graphite (review is here) layers of the nail polish are very thin and all imperfections of the nail like ridges or chipping will be apparent. Top coat hides it.

Chanel Graphite Swatches and Review

I was pleased to see that Chanel Fall 2011 collection is wearable by me:) And even more pleased to see nail polishes from this collection: Graphite, Quartz and Peridote. There are all beautiful shades, but I have something similar to Quartz, so I ordered Graphite and Peridote.

Graphite is a gorgeous shiny grey. I wouldn't say that it's a very unique color, but it's definitely interesting. The formula of the nail polish is good. The layers are very thin and if there are some imperfections of the nails like chipping, it will be seen with 2 coats. I think that it will make sense to apply the top coat to cover these imperfections. Graphite stays without chipping for 2-3 days, thast is ling for my nails.

Color Club Wild At Heart Swatches and Review

Hi everyone!

I’m surprised that Color Club doesn’t have many holographic nail polishes. All of their holos I owe are completely amazing in everything: coverage, application, durability and, of course, color and effects.

Currently I have Worth the risqué, Revvvolution and Wild at heart, and I’m completely in love with them all. I have couple of OPI DS polishes as well, but Color Club ones are much more interesting and wearable.
I’m trying to find other holos from CC, so if someone knows other amazing shades, please, let me knowJ

So, back to the topic…Wild At Heart is a completely gorgeous rich purple holo with red, blue, purple and green shimmer particles.  See for yourselfJ

Maybelline Outloud Lime swatches and a little bit of sparkles...

Hey Hey!! My today’s post is about Maybelline Outloud Lime mostly. It’s a very nice summer color, bright and positive green crème.

This is my first Maybelline nail polish and I don’t think I will ever buy other (only if I see super rare or unique color). I just don’t like the coverage. I needed 3 coats to make it opaque and each layer is very thick. Overall, the effect and durability is fine, but the application process is annoying.

I decided to add a little bit of glitter with NYC Starry Silver . I really love this combination.

OPI Lemonade Stand by Your Man Swatches and Review

I found OPI Lemonade Stand by Your Man in TJMaxx. I have never seen OPI there before, but it was a really good deal, probably because this nail polish is not from a new collection.

Lemonade Stand by Your Man is a shimmery yellow polish, quite a nice shade for the summer.  It also has some gold undertones. It’s quite transparent, so I applied 3 coats. It dries fast though.

Ocean Breeze Manicure and Wet ‘n Wild Blue Wants to be a Millionaire Swatches

I was going to post these photos on Saturday, but I did not have electricity almost for the whole day.  It was also raining for the most of the day, so it was quite weird to wake up in darkness, and then have no coffee and no internet. In addition, all my devices combined could entertain me for only couple of hours.

So I went to Newport, RI.  Amazing small town with very old houses and beautiful ocean views. Even rain couldn’t spoil wonderful experienceJ.

Back to nails…For my Ocean Breeze mani I used Blue wants to be a millionaire and old Chanel Azur. It came out quite nice, except it took almost an hour to dry. It might be because of the Azur, I have it for at least 3 years already…

 Ocean breeze manicure

Overall, Blue Wants to Be a Millionaire is a blue jelly sparkle nail polish. 3 coats give the opacity you see on the photos. It’s quite annoying, because it dries slowly as well. Other than that - it’s a nice vacation color. I personally prefer brights, but I can see myself wearing it couple of times this summer.

Sally Hansen Antiqued Gold Crackle Overcoat Swatches and Review

There have been a lot of the posts about Sally Hansen Crackle Collection recently, but when I finally got to my local CVS store, I could find literally the last one. To my luck it was Antiqued Gold. I’m not a huge fan of crème “Crackles”, so I didn’t miss too much.

Overall, Antiqued Gold Crackle is shimmery gold top coat. One thing that I really like about it is the way it crackles – I passed on similar China Glaze collection, because crackles were more horizontal and uninteresting. Sally Hansen Overcoat reminds me a lot of OPI Shatter crackle pattern.

The brush of the nail polish is a little too long and too narrow. Not that it makes the application complicated, but I would prefer the wider brush, just because the polish dries really fast. Other than that, I have nothing bad to say.

As a base I used Sally Hansen Grey Area.

BUTTER London Chancer – Swatches and Review

I wouldn’t say Chancer is a unique color. I have seen almost similar ones. The one that I can remember is Nubar Fire Sparkle.

Chancer is a deep red with red glitter particles of medium size. When I was removing nail polish I found out that sparkles are actually silver, but you would never say it on the nailJ. Overall the quality of the nail polish is good. I can’t say that it’s super long-lasting, but it stays on the nails without chipping for couple of days.

Glitter is not very sparkly in Chancer, so I would recommend using gloss/shine top coat. It’s easy to apply, but hard to remove. But that’s true for all glitter nail polishesJ

Photos can't reflect the actual charm of Chancer, it's a really pretty color:)

McQueen “Savage Beauty” Exhibition in Metropolitan Museum of Arts

I was looking for a birthday present to my friend and came across Metropolitan Museum of Arts online store. There’s a lot of the nice stuff there, some of it quite contemporary. But the major discovery was an exhibition of McQueen’s works “Savage Beauty”. I’m his huge fan, so I got really excited about it. Unfortunately, I am unable to go right now: work, work, work.:(((, but I hope I will still get to see it before August 7th.

Here are some of my favorite designs from MET site. You can see more here

My friend bought me the exhibition catalogue and…it’s just stunning from the cover to the last page. The book features a lot of the designs from the exhibition.
