Deborah Lippmann Across the Universe Swatches

Hi everyone!
Finally, it stopped raining in Boston. It’s really sunny and brightJ
Today’s post though is about Deborah Lippmann Across the Universe, that is not quite a summer nail polish to me, but definitely a gorgeous one.
I used OPI Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees as a base. The same “darkness” can be created with the Across the Universe itself, but at least 3-4- coats of the polish should be applied.
Across the Universe – is a blue glitter nail polish with almost transparent black base.  As for me, quite a unique one.  It dries slowly if more than 2 coats are applied. That is why I prefer to apply it on the base.

POP Nail Glam Twinkle swatches and review

Beauty.com had 20% sale on everything recently, so i couldn't resist and bought some stuff from my wish list: POP  Twinkle, Butter London Chancer and Deborah Lippmann Across the Universe.

I was hesitant a little about POP Twinkle since I haven't seen any swatches of this nail polish so far. But I ordered it anyways:) I really like the color - it's a sparkling silver with blue, green, purple particles. Very shiny.
Aside of the beautiful color the nail polish is horrible...I think it might be old, because it's very thick and even one coat is a pain to apply. All my other POP polishes are fine, but this particular one is just too hard to apply. I had to add some nail polish thinner.

OPI Pirates of Caribbean swatches. Part 2 - Mermaid's Tears and Skull and Glossbones

Mermaid's Tears and Skull and Glossbones are the last 2 I've got from OPI Pirates of Caribbean collection. The rest of the shades are nice ones as well, but very ordinary to me and easy to find.

Mermaid's Tears  is my favorite, mint creme with a hint of turquoise. it's just amazing and very very summery.

Skull and Glossbones is a pale grey creme close to the color of bones. In this respect OPI was not very original with the name of the shade:) I generally do not like light  nail polishes,, but this one is nice.

Overall, the formula of the whole collection is a little thicker than that of the other OPIs. I can't say much about durability, because I didn't wear any on the polishes more than one day:)

OPI Pirates of Caribbean swatches. Part 1 - Sparrow Me drama and Stranger Tides

I don’t know what exactly happened, but after Blogger was down for some time my last post just disappeared…ehhh.

So I’ve got my OPI Pirates of Caribbean polishes lately. This post is about Stranger Tides and Sparrow Me Drama. Overall, I love most of the polishes from this collection except…Sparrow Me Drama. Not that it is a bad shade, but it is very ordinary. I already have almost the same color Parlevouz OPI?

Stranger Tides is an amazing green light crème with grey undertone. It’s quite a unique color and I’m completely in love with it…except , maybe, Mermaid tears.

Sparrow Me Drama is a classy pink crème. Nice color, but as I said, you can easily find it everywhere.

OPI Silver Shatter Swatches with Various Nail Polishes

Silver Shatter is my new obsession. I love it sooo much…and I was wrong when I said it will not look well with light crèmes. It does look much better with the light base.

I experimented a little bit this weekend with different colors that I have, because I’m still waiting for my Pirates of Caribbean polishes to come:(

I hope it will be useful to those of you who still hesitate to buy Silver Shatter or not, or who just wants to see how it looks with different colors.

Here we go.

OPI Silver Shatter swatches and review

My pre-ordered Silver Shatter arrived right on my birthday...what a nice surprise. So I could not wait to try it out. I had Chanel Black Pearl on my nails, so I just applied one coat over it.

Overall, I think shimmer polishes (Black Pearl is a shimmer) are not a good base for Silver Shatter. The polish is metallic silver and quite sparkly...shimmery base is too much. I also don't think that crackle effect will be obvious with light shades, but I will definitely give it a try today or tomorrow, when the rest of the Pirates of Caribbean Collection I ordered will be delivered:)

The formula of the shatter is similar to the Black Shatter - the thinner is the coat, more crackles you will get. Pleasant fact is that crackles are square in shape and distinctive, not just parallel stripes like in China Glaze crackle collection.

Weekend Manicure Part 2. - Poppy Fields

I like nude and beige nail polishes, but I get bored so quickly. The weather in Boston was amazing this Sunday: sunny and warm, flowers are blooming everywhere.

I decided to make something bright as well.... As I said in my previous post, I'm just starting to experiment with the nail art, so it came out a little "abstract":))

Weekend Manicure Part 1. - Beige and Decals

I received my nail art pens and some flower decals from eBay. I've never used decals before and probably will not use them often too. Decal designs I've got are nice, but they don't stick very well, even with the top coat. This fact irritates me a lot:)

I used Avon Bare Necessity, black and white nail art pens and flower decals.
This is the result of my first experiment:
